Status quo, a commonly used form of the original Latin "statu quo" - literally "the state in which" - is a Latin term meaning the current or existing state of affairs. To maintain the status quo is to keep the things the way they presently are. The related phrase status quo ante, literally "the state in which before", means "the state of affairs that existed previously".

What is the status quo in the Taiwan Strait?
Q. Many countries in the world today (especially the USA) say that they support the maintenance of the status quo in the Taiwan Strait. But, what is the "status quo" in the Taiwan Strait? How can we define it, or delineate it? In other words, what is the status of the geographical entities of Taiwan and Mainland China, as well as the governmental entities of the Republic of China and the People's Republic of China, and how can we correctly describe their interrelationship? Moreover, does the USA fit in the picture anywhere?

Since Oct. 25, 1945, Taiwan has been occupied territory. There has been no change in that status to date. This is more fully explained as follows: Military government is the form of administration by which an occupying power exercises governmental authority over occupied territory. When reading General Order No. 1 of Sept. 2, 1945, our analysis must proceed as follows: The military troops of Chiang Kai-shek's Republic of China are being delegated all… [cont.]

A. Look we are in debt up to our eyeballs !!! The fed government cant even fund the entitlement programs they have now such as medic aide, social security , education and SCHIP. And some nit wits want to pile so called "free health care" on top of it all. Does that make any economic sense to you ? Lets get spending and government under control balance the budget cut taxes , un needed agencies and programs then maybe we can afford "free health care".

Why are liberals never happy with the status quo. Why are they so obsessed to change things?
Q. Could this be the reason why conservatives are overall more happy than liberals. Liberals are jsut never satisfied with life so this makes them angry all the time.
